Water-Eject.com is built by Paul Lipnyagov, Co-Founder & CEO of Beat Squad LLC. Paul has been building mobile audio apps since 2013. His most well-known title, Drum Pads 24, has been installed over 80 million times.
The team has also built apps for beat making, audio editing, stem separation, and sound enhancement. Water Eject comes from that same audio engineering background.
In 2019, Paul attended the audio developer meetup at WWDC and met people like Roger Linn, James McCartney (creator of SuperCollider), and Geert Bevin from Moog. It was an honor to meet audio engineers of that caliber and exchange ideas.
Paul is an avid mountain biker. After rides on dusty trails and muddy singletrack, his iPhone speakers would end up packed with dirt and moisture. Cleaning them became a routine part of post-ride maintenance.
Instead of using generic tone generators, he applied what he knows from years of audio development to build something better. The water eject algorithms are designed to get maximum pressure out of the speaker membrane, using frequency patterns tuned for how phone speakers actually behave. Now it's on the web for anyone to use.
We write and produce music as part of our daily work. When you're mixing tracks or testing audio on different devices, you need to know your speakers and headphones are working right. A blown driver or an imbalanced channel can throw off an entire mix.
The speaker test, headphone test, and subwoofer test tools exist because we use them ourselves. They're the same kind of diagnostics we rely on in our own production workflow, packaged so anyone can use them from a browser.
We build audio tools that solve problems we run into ourselves, then make them available to everyone. If your phone speaker sounds muffled after getting wet, you shouldn't need to download an app or create an account to fix it. Just open the page and go.
